Lowell Open Studios!

It's almost here! City wide Open Studios in Lowell will be happening this weekend and if you get a chance you should really come by Western Avenue Studios and meet all of us. We are super-friendly artists and we would love to say hello! Wear comfy shoes, bring a snack, and a GPS 'cause it's a little tricky to locate us if it's your first time. There are five floors of art studios in a cool old mill building complex plus a gallery. It's overwhelming and fun, see you there!

Thoughts of Autumn

I know we'll get a few more warm days between now and Halloween, but cooler weather has certainly arrived in New England. I'm reluctant to let summer go but I've pulled the down comforter out and found my fuzzy slippers in the closet. I'm thinking about the coziness of wearing scarves and even the idea of knitting on that permanent Work In Progress that is the giant orange blanket I started years ago seems fun again.

Here are some new autumnal items in my shop, and a few classics :)

The newest Mom card now in my Etsy shop, Morning Glory Farm:

She sits in the yard there at the farm stand while the trucks pull in full of corn and pumpkins, she's been doing this for so many years. I've gone with her, it's a fantastic place to paint!

That orange and green color combo really sends me. This is one of my regular nest pins:

It was on the front page of Etsy a few times recently which was a huge thrill :)

Here it is as a ponytail holder:

And now I've made my felted nests smaller and glued them to ring bases and bobby pins, this fall color combo has been really popular!

I have a lot of nest items in production and I will be adding new colors to my Etsy shop in October!

Published!

Hey, I can't believe I'm saying this: I'm in a book! Well, my work is. Remember this post from last year? Well the book editor, Sandra Salamony, used all the items I sent in her new book, 1,000 Jewelry Inspirations!

It's been extremely exciting to go to Barnes and Noble or Borders and see the book casually sitting on the shelf like it is no big deal that I'M IN THERE! *squee!*

And it's not just about me, a lot of my Etsy friends are featured, including a great selection by the amazing and unique artist, Tamara, of Block Party Press. Congratulations to everyone who made the cut!
